The First Notion caferacer and custom motorcycle workshop is what would be referred to in classic movies as “the garage where strange things happen, or how Tom Waits would say in Mule Variations “What is he building there?”.
You know, those weird guys, staying up late… outer space light flashes from our TIG welding machines and the occasional call to not-to-be-named creature from above if a lathe tool bit decides to call it a draw after numerous hours of trustworthy service while machining parts for our motorcycle projects.
In between those moments the sound of either a seventies revival radio station or – if 2nd First Notion man is in control – some more modern stuff.
In the end, the result will be the same… after hard work a new machine will leave the workshop, decorated with a proud First Notion badge as another one of a kind being.
Our workshop has no real opening hours, but if you want to see how we work, you can always try to contact us to drop in for a visit. Our team exists of an old school mechanic with knowledge that goes from tuning an early fifties fitted Dell’Orto to fine-tuning a hyper modern injected race track bike.
There’s also a second mechanic at hand who does not really wish to be called mechanic, as he personally thinks he’s not entitled to get such credit. On the other hand, he knows his bikes and history, can clean up a carb, put it back together and it will even work, probably better than before… So not all hope is lost!
What we do – building motorcycles from scratch, performance modifications, suspension rebuilding, setup and fine-tuning, restoration, electrical diagnostics till our head hurts, machining (custom parts), welding, and yes, even test rigging your bike at our partner’s facility.
What we don’t do – day to day servicing intervals, maintenance work on your little 50cc booster scooter… We guess you know what we mean
